Locomotive number 4014 went into service in the early 1940s to pull loads over the continental divide west of Cheyenne Wyoming. It has been restored by the railroad to demonstrate historic operation. It seems to be alive with the sounds of the fire, the steam, the rails, the whistle..... The machine was designed using a drawing board and a slide rule. The big boy requires service every 100 miles and this exhibition trip began in Houston and Navasota TX is the first stop to lubricate the bearings.
